Argentina President Javier Milei slams elites at Davos

Argentina’s President, Javier Milei, urged business and political figures at the Davos summit to eschew socialism, advocating instead for the adoption of “free enterprise capitalism” as a means to eradicate global poverty.

During his address, Milei emphasized the extensive involvement of the state in various spheres, contending that it represents tools of regulation instead of fostering citizens’ autonomy to thrive through their individual endeavors.

“Today I’m here to tell you that the Western world is in danger. And it is in danger because those who are supposed to have defended the values of the West are co-opted by a vision of the world that inevitably leads to socialism and thereby to poverty,”
