| MESSAGE FROM THE MAJORITY LEADER House Republicans and Friends Across New Hampshire, House Democrats’ extremism was once again on full display this week. They voted as usual against educational opportunities for children, while also voting to continue providing those same children access to inappropriate obscene material in school. In a possibly unprecedented move, though, they supported two bills to put themselves on the public dole. Democrats persist in their crusade to keep parents in the dark and without input on what is happening with their children when they are dropped off each day. They stonewall every Republican initiative to bring transparency and accountability to public schools. Evidently, the material that Democrats voted to endorse as suitable for elementary and middle school children, when read on the House floor to adults, becomes so offensive and so objectionable that they demand a vote to prevent a member from speaking. Until the next election, parents must unfortunately continue to accept that school is a mysterious and secretive black box where Democrats expect them to deposit their children to become virtual wards of the state. Meanwhile, they are left with little choice but to avail themselves of the wildly successful EFA program which we just voted last week to expand, giving their children opportunities to learn outside of the opaque walls of the one-size-doesn’t-fit-all system. The icing on the cake was provided when Democrats inexplicably voted themselves student loan forgiveness and access to assistance reserved for state employees and funded by your tax dollars. While Republicans fight to help you protect and educate your children, Democrats fight to help themselves to your wallet. |
