SCGOP Hits the Road: May 13 Meeting in Cornish

Tuesday, May 13th marked a new cooperative effort between the Sullivan County Republican Committee (SCGOP) and the Plainfield-Cornish Republican Town Committee.  With Town Chair Conrad’s assistance and our County Chairman Jon’s acceptance, we took the SCGOP on the road to the Cornish Flat Masonic Lodge.

We had an excellent tour of the NH Budget process (and some of the politics and games around it) courtesy of our speaker, House Rep Dan McGuire.

(Rep. Dan McGuire (Merrimack – District 14) chairs the House Finance Committee – Division 1 and is also a member of the Education Funding Committee.)

Given the constraints of conducting a joint meeting, Representative reports and business discussion were kept to a minimum.

According to Rep. McGuire, participation at this meeting rivaled Merrimack County.  And I daresay we had more fun in the process.

We can’t be everywhere all the time, but keep an eye out for SCGOP, coming to a town hall/venue near you.

It was a pleasurable and informative event.  Life could be much worse than an evening at the Cornish Flat Masonic Lodge.
