Who will John Garvey Represent?

Concord- New Hampshire Republican State Committee Executive Director Ross Berry issued the following statement in regards to John Garvey’s Statement of Financial Interests:

“Official disclosures from the NH SOS office show that John Garvey would be unable to vote on nearly every piece of legislation due to numerous conflicts of interest. Garvey has a personal financial interest in the following industries: Insurance, Real Estate, Banking, current use land assessment program, practice of law, a business regulated by the Public Utilities Commission, Education, and Agriculture.

With so many conflicts of interest, John Garvey would be frozen to act on virtually every piece of meaningful legislation. He would be forced to abstain from nearly every vote or risk opening to the door to corruption or insider trading violations. We need to elect people with integrity, that can represent their constituents. According to public documents John Garvey’s spouse sits on the boards of several organizations in which she earns hefty six figure compensations and together they own over 3 million dollars in stock in the state’s largest electric utility.

How can anyone expect John Garvey to put the interests of his constituents first when he has millions and millions of dollars at stake with every potential vote before him. The voters of District 8 deserve a Senator that can actually represent them, fight for them, and vote on issues they care about.”
