Senator Ruth Ward on the Croydon Bill

Ward praises signing of Croydon bill into law

Concord, NH – Today, Governor Chris Sununu signed SB 8, the Croydon Bill, into law during an event held at the Croydon Village School. Senator Ruth Ward (R-Stoddard), prime sponsor of the legislation, was in attendance and issued the following statement after the signing:

“I am pleased that today Governor Chris Sununu has signed critical legislation into law that will provide students living in a town without a public school to have the opportunity to attend a public or private accredited school of their choosing in another community,” said Senator Ruth Ward (R-Stoddard), prime sponsor of the legislation. “I would like to thank all of the advocates, parents and community members for their hard work and dedication to seeing that students in the town of Croydon and across the state have the opportunity to choose an education at another school that best suits their needs.”

“This bill will have an immeasurable, positive effect for students in the town of Croydon, which does not have its own public school beyond fourth grade, and many other communities faced with the same challenge in New Hampshire and I am pleased to see it become law,” Ward added.
